A complete enquiry reduces clarification rounds and makes competing quotations easier to compare. If some details are undecided, identify them as open questions instead of filling them with assumptions. Use this checklist when contacting a grinding media or wear-parts supplier.
Identify the product and dimensions
State whether you need cast balls, forged balls, cylpebs, rods, micro media, ceramic balls or drawing-based wear parts. Provide the size and quantity for each item. Cylpebs require diameter and length; liners and hammers need the relevant equipment information and approved drawings where available.
Attach the technical requirements
Include your material specification, dimensional tolerances and required inspection documents. If you need assistance with selection, share the mill or equipment model, processed material, operating conditions and the result you want to achieve. Distinguish mandatory requirements from preferences.
Specify the quantity and packaging
Give the trial quantity or planned order quantity, with a breakdown by size. Explain any handling limitations, labelling requirements and preferred packaging. Confirm the final packing arrangement with the supplier; packaging choice and shipment planning should be agreed for the actual order.
Explain the delivery basis
Provide the destination and requested delivery timeframe. Specify the agreed trade term and named place when applicable, so that freight and other responsibilities are clear. Identify documents needed by your receiving team and freight provider.
Compare the same scope
Check that quotations include the same material, dimensions, quantities, testing and delivery scope before comparing prices.
