Application & selection
Our forged grinding ball range covers a variety of industrial grinding applications. Ball size, material grade and heat treatment must be selected for the equipment and operating conditions.
Grinding media for mining
Provide the ore type, mill model, current ball sizes and operating information so we can discuss an appropriate specification.
SAG mill ball selection
For semi-autogenous grinding applications, provide the mill diameter and length, current ball charge, and observed impact or wear conditions. Suitability must be assessed for the specific mill; listed size ranges are not universally applicable.
Order requirements
Confirm diameter, material grade, inspection requirements, quantity and delivery destination. Avoid comparing hardness values without considering the test location and material specification.
From forging to inspection
The factory photographs show the forging workshop and separate heat-treatment operations. Product inspection covers appearance and dimensions; agree hardness test locations and other acceptance tests for the selected diameter and material.
Ball mill and SAG mill inquiries
SAG mill ball inquiries require mill dimensions, ore characteristics, make-up ball sizes and current breakage or wear conditions. Ball mill inquiries should also identify wet or dry operation and the current ball size distribution. These applications are reviewed separately.
Prepare a comparable quotation
List each ball diameter and its required tonnage, the current material specification, test methods and destination port. For a trial, agree the trial quantity, recording method and comparison period before supply.
